Well, at least the miniature golf links!  Our plan is to go miniature golfing on Saturday, September 25 at 4:00 p.m. and then eat out at Kings afterwards. With any luck, the 90 Degree weather will be over by then and we can have a fun time out in the fresh air. We will meet at the church Annex at 3:30 pm and drive to the course on Route 30. There is A Kings Family Restaurant nearby where we will have an early dinner. Please RSVP to Marcia Sayre at: 724-325-2214. “Lord, I have heard the news about you; I am amazed at what you have done.  Lord, do great things once again in our time; make those things happen again in our own days….”

This verse from Habakkuk 3:2 (NCV) speaks to the opportunity that we have this Fall, as we embark on a journey to discover how God will reveal to us “The 40 Days of Love”.  Through the weekend services, small group studies, and regular reading assignments from the companion book to the campaign – The Relationship Principles of Jesus - our entire church family will focus on the same spiritual themes for a six week period.  During this time, the children in Blast, the youth in Emerge and the adults will be focused on understanding what God teaches us about love.  Some of the topics for the six weeks include: “Love is Patient, Love is Kind”; “Love Speaks the Truth”; “Love is Forgiving”; and “Love is Not Selfish”  We ask you to pray for this campaign and our church.  Rick Warren from Saddleback Church has challenged us to think “exponentially”.  By that, he means to not limit God in what he can do through our church and community during this campaign.  We ask that you pray to find your special place in this campaign.

40 Days of Love Group Members

Do you enjoy studying the Word of God in a non-threatening environment?  Do you value hearing other people’s points of view and being able to express you own?  We invite you to join a small group for six weeks this Fall.  During this time, you will view short segments of a DVD by Rick Warren from the Saddleback Church speaking on the scriptures of Love found in the Bible.  The topics are relevant for everyone, as we consider loving God and loving all of those around us.  Sometimes this is a pretty tall order. “What about those people who have hurt me?”,  you might ask.  These sessions will help us to learn how God instructs us to deal with this all too prevalent problem.  Don’t miss out on this whole church campaign.  Click here for more information and to look at the 40 Days of Love small groups available.   You can also call Janice McCullough at 412-380-1391 to become a member. Thank you for prayerfully considering your participation.
