LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

  • We feel that children learn through play.  Classroom routines encourage active involvement, meaningful experimentation, and reinforcement through repetition.  Daily class schedules are designed to balance structure and free choice play, as well as active and quiet times.

  • Developmentally appropriate activities are incorporated in the daily plans.  Emphasis is also placed on listening, sharing, taking turns, speaking, and following directions in group situations.

GYM PROGRAM

  • Children are given daily opportunities to participate in a variety of gross motor activities in our gymnasium.

MUSIC PROGRAM

A teacher visits with the children weekly and provides stimulating musical and movement activities that foster an enjoyment of music.  Music programs are presented in December and a Mother's Day Tea program in May.
